About
Genre-jumping, pop culture-loving Laura Galanis grew up in the local malls of the Midwest. After deciding between dousing herself with Freesia or Country Apple at Bath and Body Works, Laura and her friends would hit the food court to collect free samples and order portions of food they could never finish. With a fresh graphic tee in hand, Laura would get home from the mall and pop a VHS into her TV to watch an angsty teen movie with a happy ending while logging into AIM to see if her crush was on. Guess what? He was.
Laura still lives in the Midwest, but now, with her husband, five kids, and five cats. She still goes to the mall and hits up arcades and food courts whenever she can. With the realization that she's not going to find a DeLorean waiting in her driveway, Laura creates lists of all the places she’d travel and things she would do if she didn’t need roads to get there. When she’s not hanging with her kids, watching movies, or trying to bring butterfly clips back, Laura can be found writing inclusive sci-fi stories infused with nostalgia that explore courage, love, and self-discovery.
